"The Pirates of Penzance"
"The Music Man - A Must See!" - April 28, 2008
We got a chance to see The Music Man in San Bernardino this weekend - what a treat! The show was fabulous. The two leads, Professor Hill and Marian the librarian had wonderful voices and their timing with each other was flawless. The barbership quartet was one of the best we ever heard and they were a riot. The music for the entire show was great and the supporting cast was professional and really put in a great deal of effort to please the audience. And I must say the audience was pleased. A standing ovation. If yuo get a chance to see it this weekend at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula you should. It is a truly entertaining show. - User Review, The San Bernardino Sun
"Music Man" Director-Choreographer Living a Lifelong Dream by F. Scott Karlan for The Californian
A dancer at 4 years old and a summer stock performer at 15, Joe Giamalva dreamed throghout his childhood of a time when he would be a professional dancer, choreographer, and producer.
And so it was to be, for it was not long before Giamalva was on Broadway with Robert Goulet and Gower Champion in "The Happy Time" as well as other projects with Cyd Charisse, Tony Martin, Suzanne Somers, Raquel Welch, and Janet Jackson. His career also involved television and nightclubs.
It was not until Giamalva turned 40 that he finally began choreographing and producing theatrical productions. That was 20 years ago.
Now at 60, he's as happy as a kid with a brand new trombone, especially since he's helming a production of Meredith Wilson's "The Music Man," which will be presented from today through Sunday at the Pechanga Resort & Casino's showroom.
Hosted by the California Theatre of the Performing Arts and Pechanga, "The Music Man" promises first-rate entertainment.
