Joe Giamalva brings a diversity of experience to his career as a producer, director, choreographer and teacher. From a theatrical debut at age 4, he has moved with ease between stage, theatre, nightclubs and movies. As a performer, he has toured the world with such stars as Raquel Welch, Tony Martin and Cyd Charisse, Donny and Marie Osmond, and Cher.
In the music video world, he can be seen with Janet Jackson in "When I Think of You." On Broadway he danced in "The Happy Time" with Robert Goulet, as well as toured the United States in over 25 hit musicals. His movie credits include: "New York, New York" starring Liza Minelli, "Sextette" with Mae West, and "Mr. Saturday Night" starring Billy Crystal. Joe toured with "Disney on Parade" for 3 years, playing the role of the star himself - Mickey Mouse. For 3 years he starred in 120 episodes of T.V.'s award-winning "Welcome to Pooh Corner" and 120 episodes of "Dumbo's Circus" for the Disney Channel. Other children shows Joe has participated in include: "The Banana's in Pyjamas", "The Richard Scarry Show" for The Easter Egg Roll at the White House in Washington, D.C. (The Clinton Administration), "Arthur", "Spiderman", and shows from the networks of KCET, PBS, and Fox Kids.
Joe has produced, directed and choreographed many musicals such as: "Man of La Mancha", "Cabaret", "Brigadoon", "Me and My Girl", "The Music Man", and most of the Gilbert and Sullivan musicals. His commercials include: Mattel Toys, McDonalds, and Leggo Toys. On T.V. sitcoms he's danced and choreographed for "Day by Day", "Coach", and "The Nanny" starring Fran Drescher. Joe has taught tap dancing in Woodland Hills, Malibu, Studio City and others. Joe currently teaches in Palm Desert at Starlight Dance Center. He can be seen as the fashion expert in the docu-comedy called "Desperately Seeking Paul McCartney" which can be seen and purchased on Amazon. Joe was a guest Star in this year's production of "Born to Sparkle" in Palm Springs. at the Desert Rose Playhouse.
